Today is “Snugs Day.” A big day for us. There have been other big steps – going away gatherings, the final visit to the cabin, and going down to a one car family….but this is different. Snugs the adventure cat has been dropped off at her foster home for the next 10 months. There is every possibility that Snugs won’t even notice that we’ve gone. But she probably will. And we will miss her SO MUCH!
You know, we never wanted a cat, and a pet wasn’t in the plans. This trip has been in the back of our mind for 25 years, so we weren’t willing to commit to anything more than a goldfish. Snugs was an unexpected addition to our family, but dang – she has us wrapped around her little diabolical claw.
There were some tears before, after (and during) drop off, but her incredible foster cat-mom, Mel, promised pictures and only laughed a little at our crazy little Snug-isms, like Dixie cups by sinks and special treat dispensers when we are away. I can’t begin to say how thankful we are for Mel – knowing Snugs will be loved and pampered makes this a possibility.
Thank you, Mel, and LOVE YOU SNUGS!!
